Five concepts to improve your predictions! Asif Masani has created a wonderful summary of the main concept of prediction. If you invest in the correct understanding of these in predictions, you can increase your influence! I think that you may be overlooked sometimes: on e-amer! Do not ignore a on e-off "event. Design a model so that it can be easily tracked. The reason is that the "on e-off" event can have a significant impact on numbers. And you can make better decisions by making it possible for decisio n-making people to be affected by such an event. In other words, if you do it well, you can increase the influence on important stakeholders! Therefore, if you can easily grasp them, you can create a big difference! 😃 It is important to correct the basics of prediction. 🥳 By doing these five things firmly, you can raise the prediction to the next level! 🙌 Thank you to Mr. Asif for providing this wonderful outline! On May 11, 2023, the national public health emergency surrounding Covid-19 officially ended, and many people are celebrating a return to "normal," but the results of the latest Stress in America™ survey paint a different picture. APA psychologists say the surface characteristics of everyday life becoming more normal obscure the post-traumatic effects that have transformed our mental and physical health.

When reviewing this year's survey data, APA psychologists broadly agreed that evidence is mounting that our society is experiencing the psychological effects of collective trauma.
"Covid-19" "The pandemic has created a collective experience among Americans. While the early pandemic shutdowns may seem distant, their aftereffects are still felt," said Dr. Arthur C. Evans, Jr., CEO of APA.
Moreover, widespread trauma is not limited to the pandemic. Global conflict, racism and racial injustice, inflation, and climate-related disasters all weigh heavily on the American collective consciousness.

2023 American stress A National Recoening From Collection Trauma (a nation that recovers from collective trauma) has verified the permanent effects of the crisis that defines this era. Examining the physical and mental health status before and after the pandemic showed signs of collective trauma in all ages.
This data suggests that the lon g-term stress that has been sustained since the beginning of COVI D-19 pandemic has had a great influence on happiness, increasing chronic diseases, especially between the age of 35 and 44. It proves that it increased from 48 % reported in 2019 to 58 % in 2023. Adults aged 35 to 44 have the highest rate of mental health diagnosis, from 31 % in 2019 to 45 % in 2023, but adults 18 to 34 years old are 50 in 2023. % Of them, and the percentage of mental illness was still the highest.

Psychological science has the risk of lon g-term stress causing various mental health problems, and it may be more sensitive to everyday annoyance. He has revealed that it can have a widespread impact on views and goals, affect physical reactions to stress factors, which have a remarkable effect on physical health. To address lon g-term stress requires a series of skills different from adapting to temporary stress factors.
Stress is strictly alert, continuous stress accumulates, causes inflammation, wears an immune system, and increases the risk of many diseases, such as digestive problems, heart disease, weight gain, and stroke.
"We cannot ignore the fact that more than 1 million Americans have died and the workplaces, school systems, and the whole culture have changed. First, we have to identify and understand the remaining wounds. "

The Z generation and the young millennial generation are stressed "completely overwhelmed
When considering this year's survey data, APA psychologists have noticed that even if they are diagnosed with chronic diseases, many people have a positive perception of their physical health. For example, tw o-thirds (66 %) of adults (high blood pressure) are chronic diseases from medical providers, despite the high reputation for physical health (81 % is good or more physical health). He said he had been suffering from (28 %), high cholesterol (24 %), arthritis (17 %), etc.).
- Furthermore, 81 % of adults answered that mental health is good or more, but more than on e-third (37 %) responds that it is in a diagnosed mental health state, which is a level before the epidemic. (32 % in 2019) rose 5 points. Many have anxiety disorder (24 %) or depression (23 %).
- This data also shows the respondents tend to neglect stress. About tw o-thirds of adults (67 %) answered that they felt that their problems were "terrible" because they knew that others were more terrible. Reasons for themselves and their families are not treated, "treatment is ineffective" (40 %), "no time" (39 %), and "no insurance" (37 %).
- As for stress management, many people are struggling to deal with them, and they carry a burden alone. Approximately three out of five adults (62 %) answered that they don't want to put a burden on others, so they don't talk about their whole stress in general. Financial aspects are the best stress, but talking about it is out of the question. In fact, only 52 % of the adults answered that they were not reluctant to talk to others about money and economic situation, and it was embarrassing to talk to others about money and economic situation with more than 2 out of five. Nearly three in five adults (61%) say they think the people around them just expect them to get through the stress. Nearly half (47%) say they wish they had someone to help them manage their stress. Some adults (36%) say they don't know where to start to manage their stress, and one-third (33%) say that no matter what they do to manage their stress, they end up feeling completely stressed. In fact, two-thirds (66%) of adults say they could have used more emotional support in the past 12 months than they received, and about one-quarter (26%) cited a need for more support. More than two in five adults (44%) say they feel like no one understands what they're going through, and more than half (52%) say they wish they had someone they could turn to for advice or support. Another consequence of our stressful society is that nearly three in ten adults (28%) say that stress has made it hard or difficult for them to plan for the future in the past month. Moreover, one-third of adults (33%) say that there is too much stress in their daily lives to think about the future.
Pervasive dissatisfaction with what they see in the media is also a cause of stress. Half of adults (50%) say they are stressed because the daily news does not focus on what matters most to them, and three in five (59%) say they are stressed because politicians are not talking about what matters most to them. Moreover, few people say they are confident about the direction our country is heading (34%) or that their government representatives have their best interests in mind (31%).
Understanding the impacts of stress—what researchers want you to know
When asked to quantify their average level of stress, American adults give themselves a 5 out of 10 (on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "very little stress" and 10 being "very stressful"), which is unchanged from last year. Still, a quarter of adults (24%) rate their average stress between 8 and 10. That's up from 19% in 2019, pre-pandemic. The increase is seen across all age groups except those 65 and over.
The increase in those rating their average stress level between 8 and 10 is also increasing among parents and single-person households, but there's been little change among retirees.
- Looking more closely at stress by age, we find that while stress levels have remained relatively stable for the general population, the increase has been notably larger for those aged 35 to 44:
- 18 to 34 years old, 6 to 5. 7 in 2023 vs 2019
- 35-44 years old, 5. 7 to 5. 2 in 2023 vs 2019
- 45-64 years old, 5 to 4. 9 in 2023 vs 2019
- 65 years old or older, 2023 vs. 2019 3. 4, 3. 6
- It was reported as a strong source of stress in adult life (68 %), violence and crime (61 %). Hereafter, US debt (57 %), gun shooting case (56 %), social division (55 %), and medical care (54 %).
Methodology
In everyday stress categories, healt h-related stress factors (65 %), money (63 %), and the economy (64 %) are to p-ranking stress sources in adult life. A 35 to 4 4-yea r-olds answered that the facts that cause stress more often than in 2019 include money, economic, family's responsibilities, personal safety, and discrimination. At the age of 65, it was the only age group with multiple factors that were less stressful than 2019 than 2019.
Of the stress sources reported at the age of 18 to 34 years old in 2023, the most important sources of stress were "healt h-related" and "money" (both). Of the three categories (famil y-related, physical health, mental health) contained in healt h-related, the mental health as stress factors was 72 %, which was the highest in all ages. The most major stressers reported after 2019 in the age of 18 and 34 have increased the economy (52 % in 2019 to 72 % in 2023) and housing expenses (57 % in 2019 to 2023. It was due to 70 % of the year).
According to the 2023 survey data, the age group tended to appeal more stress than the elderly. He also tended to report that he did not want to talk about his stress as a whole because he did not want to put a burden on others.
- The main causes of stress reported in 2023 on a 35 to 4 4-yea r-old cohort were money (77 %) and economy (74 %). Adults aged 35 to 44, who answered that money was a major cause of stress, responded that the necessity payment was the cause of stress, compared to adults aged 18 to 34 and 65 years old. (67 % to 58 %, 53 %).
- At the age group of 35 to 44 years old, the main stress factors reported after 2019 were the economic (51 % to 74 %), the safety of the body (36 % to 49 %), and the responsibility of the family. (59 % to 71 %).
- Furthermore, in the age of 35 to 44, chronic diseases in 2023 were significantly increased compared to 2019 (58 % to 48 %). As with chronic health, the mental health diagnosis reported in 2023 was significantly increased compared to 2019 (45 % to 31 %).
Adults ages 45-64 were most likely to cite "money and finances" (both 63%) and "health-related" (62%) as their top significant stressors in 2023. The stressor that increased the most from 2019 was finances (up from 45%).
- Similar to the trend for 35-44 year olds, 45-64 year olds were more likely to report having a chronic illness in 2023 compared to 2019 (73% vs. 68%). This age group also saw a significant increase in reported mental health diagnoses in 2023 compared to 2019 (36% vs. 26%).
- The top major causes of stress reported in 2023 for adults ages 65 and older were finances (47%) and health-related (45%). The only major stressor that increased in recent years was finances (from 36% in 2019 to 47% in 2023).
