This time, I would like to introduce the best free drum VST plugin for Windows and MacOS digital audio workstations.

Drums are widely thought to be the basics of music, but I like to think of a framework for composing songs.

Four drums for rock, classic "boots & cats" beats for EDM, "UN-TZ UN-TZ" drum for transformer, trainbeat for country music, jazz for swing beats, surfing, surf. Surf beats, punks include D beats, and black metal has a blast beat.

This is obviously too simple, but no matter what drumbeat you hit, it's the type of music you are making. So drums can be said to some extent.

Steven Slate Drums is a drum plu g-in that represents free. If you create rock, metal, and pop music, you will be the most recommended for this plugin.

Mt Power Drum Kit 2 was released in 2012, but recently it has become freeware. It is a free acoustic drum kit plugin, with a buil t-in mixer and a groove collection that can be used to make songs.

To be honest, MT Power Drum Kit 2 is not as real as other drum plugins on this list, but that is not strength. In my ears, it sounds like a classic and ove r-composed drum, like locks and pops in the 1980s.

If you are producing retro rock music and synthes using acoustic drums, you'll like the sounds included in MT Power Drum Kit 2.

If you want a free drum plu g-in that makes a hard hit and a free mix, this is the only thing. Also, MT Power Drum Kit 2 has a huge MIDI Groove library, which may be worth paying for admission.

LABS Drums

I'm a big fan of Labs and its wonderful sound library. You can download dozens of the highest quality sound packs, so you don't have to worry about the plu g-in without depth.

Labs Drums is an acoustic drum library for Labs plugins. Provides the best drum sound for rock and pop mix.

I don't know what this is, but it's a nice sound. Dynamics are more than enough, and percussion sounds are more than necessary. In fact, it is a great option if you use it because it is specially adjusted to the General Midi specification.

MODO Drum Custom Shop

Modo Drum Custom SHOP is a free version of IK Multimedia flagship software MODO DRUM. One free drum kit is included, and you can upgrade the sound with an extended kit.

The attached STUDIO kit sound is wonderful and has been one of the few industry standards for many years. However, the best thing about the free version is that you can use a complete Modo Drum engine. Any fine adjustments that you can do with Modo Drum 1. 5 can be done with a free Custom SHOP plugin.

This instrument creates a ful l-fledged drum sound using IK Multimedia's modal synthesis technology. If you are looking for a great sound starter drum kit, Modo Drum Custom SHOP is a very good choice.

Organic Calfskin Kit

Organic Calfskin Kit is a real sound acoustic drum VST plugin. It is one of the few products that can download additional drum kits from the developer website for free and cover various performances such as brushes and mallets.

The control is simple, but there is also a pitch modulation effect named "Weidness", which is really grateful. If you've used KORG VOLCA Sample, you'll know the fun of drum sound using pitch modulation.

However, Organic Calfskin Kit is not as detailed as other free drum plugins here. If you want to completely control the virtual drum kit, Modo Drum or SSD Free is better.

The biggest advantage of Organic Calfskin Kit is that you can play immediately. In addition, since the CPU footprint is small, it can be used with low performance computers without worrying about performance problems.

Addictive Drums DEMO

XLN Audio offers a free demo version of Addictive Drums. Certainly, the functions are limited, but there is no time limit or lower sound quality.

Addictive Drums Demo contains one drum kit based on Fairfax vol. 1 ADPAK. It consists of kick drums, snares, h i-hats, and crash cymbals. Obviously lacks Ride Cymbal and Tam, but the attached drum sound is wonderful.

If you only need a simple acoustic drum kit, the free demo version of the Addictive Drums is worth considering. A free drum plu g-in for rock, pop and indie music.

I used the Addictive Drums as the main drum kit in a recent project, adding a sample of thir d-party ride cymbals and tam to complete the kit.

Monster Drum

MONSTER DRUM is a very multifunctional drum plugin developed by MONSTER DAW. Equipped with a huge analog drum collection, regular sound updates and new expansion kits are available.

All the drum kits that are included are already mixed and can be used immediately in the project. Convenient time savings when starting a new jam session with DAW. Just load the MONSTER DRUM plugin and select the kit that suits the song. You can make fine adjustments anytime later.

Mult i-out functions that allow you to route each drum element independently with a digital audio workstation mixer.

Jamstix Free

The plu g-in itself is still unfinished, but you can download a stable version for DAW. Drumgizmo is compatible with Windows, MacOS and Linux.

EXC!TE SNARE DRUM

Yes, I'm excited about Snare Drum. The best drum!

To be more serious, EXC! Te Snare Drum is a niche drum plu g-in. By modeling an acoustic snare drum, you can fully customize the sound to your liking.

If you have a snare pad or a piezoelectric disc, you can play the plu g-in directly. It's not like all trucks, but it's definitely useful.

It would be great if the developers release similar plugins for kick drums and high hats.

ChowKick

I reviewed the free plu g-in chowkick for CHOWDHURY DSP in July, but I was quite impressed.

It is a wonderful sound, a buil t-in function, and a wonderful layout. I used to use various paid kick modeling plugins before. Some provide more profound sound scalpting possibilities, but I think the straightforward controls and carefully examined controls can be finely adjusted immediately.

This cannot be overlooked.

Sitala

SITALA is a drum sampler that I often use. Lightweight and simple, all of which can actually be used (unless you sample handmade cello or do that kind of strange thing). With Reaper, routing is performed automatically.

It looks intuitive and simpler at first glance, but it is actually packed with many functions.

Sample trimming, beat slice, very wonderful sound compressor, and TONE knob that actually adapts based on pitch content of individual sample.

If you already have a WAV format drum kit collection, a sampler like SITALA is the only drum VST plu g-in.

Speedrum Lite

Speedrum Lite is another option as the best freeware drum sampler.

SPEEDRUM Lite is not very different from Sitala.

There are Attack and Decay's controls for each sample and a dedicated Lo-Pass and Hi-Pass filter knob.

If you prefer this workflow than SITALA, we recommend that you check the full version of Speedrum. Speedrum's full version is equipped with more controls for sample sound shaping, and cool effects such as distortion, compressor, transformer shaper, and humanizer.

AudioSpillage MiniSpillage

This is a free version of a more ful l-functioned paid product, but does not dare to say that miniSpillage has been "cut off".

In fact, it is a very impressive drum synthesizer, which is equipped with so many controls that cannot be explained.

This free version comes with three types of drums, h i-hats, and wood drums among the 12 types of drum synth engines. It's a bit unfortunate that we didn't provide a snare engine instead of Wood Drum, but it would not be easy.

DrumNet

Drumnet is a powerful AI drum generator.

DRUMNET is a 8-slot drum sampler that generates drum sounds using AI technology. In the free version, all functions included in the paid version are used, except for the function of exporting the sound generated by AI.

This instrument is perfect as a free drum VST used in hi p-hop and electronic music. Build the entire kit from zero and customize the sound according to the project.

Equipped with a step sequencer that can create drum patterns. If you are looking for a multifunctional free drum plugin that does not require an external sample import, Drumnet is definitely worth a look.

When starting a new song, I often use drum nets as temporary drum instruments. It helps to make drum grooves. If you need a custom sound later, replace it with another drum VST or drum sample pack.

BPB Cassette Drums

Last but not least, the BPB Cassette Drums Instrument Bundle contains three types of drum plugins: Cassette 606, Cassette 808, and Cassette 909.

These plugins are designed by Crimson Merry and are based on the drum machine sound captured by Anderson303 of Edgar Maguyon, GREGOR Zemljic, and Reddit users. TOMISLAV ZLATIC, a BBPB cedator, has resampled the sound source of the tape recorder and added a solution and grit.

Each drum plugin has three types of flavors: Clean, Warm, and Hot. Clean is a completely unprocessed raw sample, and Warm and HOT have a different degree of saturation.

Of course, Labs Drums is also a drum sample library. If you load it to the related playback engine (in this case, Spitfire Labs player), it is not much different from a dedicated drum plugin. All of the drum kits available for download from the website http://drumgizmo. org/ are listed as being under the Attribution 4. 0 International License or similar. So if you use the samples in your compositions, you must include attribution in the context where other credits (performers, etc.) appear (according to the website). This may not be ideal for some users. Frankly, I think if you're going to give something away, you should give it away unconditionally.
