The Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians lowered the minimum gaming age to 18 at all Kewadin Casino locations effective March 30. The change was authorized by the terms of the gaming compact between the tribe and the state.

Michigan has issued a new COVID-19 order temporarily closing casinos. Three commercial casinos in Detroit will be closed for at least three weeks starting Tuesday to comply with the state order.
Michigan's 22 tribal casinos operate on sovereign lands and are outside the jurisdiction of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Bay Mills Resort & Casinos in Brimley announced it would voluntarily comply with the state's closure order, but the other 21 tribal casinos will remain open.
