"This is the first store that BARSTOOL SPORTSBOOKS will open in casinos nationwide," said Jay Snowden, a pennatal CEO. The company operates 41 casinos in 19 states.

"We hope that each of the unique sports betting experience will be provided with some features that reflect the brand spirit of BARSTOOL SPORTS, and we hope that customers can enjoy it," said Snowden CEO.

Pennatal paid $ 163 million in January and acquired 36 % of the sports media platforms.

Pen will launch a berth tool app in Michigan this year, targeting more states through 2021. This app is currently available only in Pennsylvania. Snowden said that the goal was to start sports betting in all states where Pen owns gaming facilities and legalized sports betting.

With Maryland voters legalizing sports betting this week, Penn is expected to exercise an option to buy the state's Hollywood Casino Perryville operation from real estate investment trust Gaming and Leisure Properties later this year.

In addition to Blackhawk, Penn plans to roll out Barstool-branded retail sportsbooks at Greektown in Detroit and two Indiana casinos, Ameristar East Chicago and Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, between November and January.

By launching a Barstool-branded sportsbook, Penn hopes to broaden its reach and change its customer base, which currently skews toward those 45 and older.

Penn said the Ameristar Blackhawk sportsbook will feature sports betting kiosks and ticket creation stations to accommodate thousands of sports betting options. The new sportsbook will be located on the casino's second floor.

Electronic slot and bingo machine maker AGS said the coronavirus blues are stubbornly remaining. The company's third-quarter losses widened and revenue shrank even as casinos began to reopen from closures.

The results seemed to please investors, sending the stock up 11% in after-hours trading.

In a statement issued after the stock market closed on Thursday, the Las Vegas-based company said it had a net loss of $11. 1 million, or 31 cents per share, for the three months ended Sept. 30.

Analysts surveyed by Seeking Alpha had expected a loss of 62 cents per share.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, a measure of cash flow that excludes one-time charges, rose 26. 6% to $27 million from $36. 8 million a year ago.

Revenue fell 37. 9% to $49. 3 million from $79. 4 million, beating the average estimate of $37. 2 million of analysts surveyed by Seeking Alpha. AGS blamed the decline on a loss of leasing revenue from idle electronic gaming machines and a decline in installed base from a year ago.

AGS estimates that 87% of its domestic electronic gambling machines, more than 14, 500 machines, were in operation as of the end of the third quarter. The company said domestic electronic gambling machine installations were down 1, 900 units compared to the same period a year ago, due to the sale of 476 previously leased, low-profit Oklahoma-made machines to a distributor and coronavirus-induced slot floor reconfigurations that took 350 machines out of service.

AGS CEO David Lopez looked for silver linings, saying in a statement that the pandemic has hardened staff resolve and made the company more agile.

"Improvements to our hardware and game content position us well to secure a fair share of future unit sales," Lopez said. "We remain encouraged by strategic growth opportunities emerging in our table games division and expect our interactive performance to continue to improve as more states consider adopting real money online gaming legislation.

CFO Kimo Akiona noted that the company's third-quarter performance and liquidity ($113. 2 million in available liquidity as of Sept. 30) enabled it to repay its $30 million revolver.
