Boyd Gaming Corp. announced Wednesday plans to reopen 13 properties in three states next week as nationwide casino closures due to the coronavirus pandemic are rapidly lifted.
The Las Vegas-based regional casino operator with 29 gaming properties in 10 states has reopened casinos in Mississippi, Louisiana and Kansas in the past 10 days. The company's entire portfolio had been closed since mid-March due to COVID-19.
"We are encouraged by the enthusiastic response from our guests so far following the reopenings in these states," Boyd CEO Keith Smith said in a statement.
On Monday, Boyd announced it would reopen two casinos in Missouri, Ameristar St. Charles and Ameristar Kansas City, and two in Iowa, Diamond Jo Dubuque and Diamond Jo Worth.
Nine Nevada casinos are scheduled to reopen on Thursday: The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, Aliante, Cannery and Sam's Town, Fremont in downtown Las Vegas and Joker's Wild in California and Henderson.
Boyd Gaming's three properties in southern Nevada -- Eastside Cannery on the Boulder Strip, Eldorado in Henderson and Main Street Station in downtown Las Vegas -- will remain closed during the first reopening phase.
"We are excited about the opportunity to reopen in Nevada, Missouri and Iowa as reopenings progress across the country," Smith said. "By the first week of June, 21 of our 29 locations nationwide will be open for business, and we expect to reopen most of our remaining casinos by the end of June.
Boyd said its casinos have reopened with limited amenities and capacity limits in compliance with state and local requirements. The company also instituted its own health and safety protocols aimed at protecting employees and guests. These protocols include mandatory face coverings and temperature checks for all employees, social distancing restrictions, hand sanitizer dispensers at all facilities, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation practices.

Nevertheless, casino customers decreased by 15. 9 %, and the casino's total income exceeded $ 1. 15 million.
"Thursday was the second best Thursday in the 1 2-year history of this facility. I think it was.
According to Full House, Silver Slipper is the largest facility in the company, accounting for about 44 % of the total income in 2019.

MGM adds MGM Grand and Signature towers to its Strip reopening plans
Posted on May 27, 2020 by Cory - More
MGM Resorts International has added MGM Grand Las Vegas and The Signature condominium towers to its plans to reopen its Strip casinos next week.
MGM had originally said it would only reopen Bellagio and New York-New York when Nevada reopens its gaming industry after more than two months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"As we plan these openings, we are prioritizing the health and safety of our guests and employees," MGM Resorts acting CEO Bill Hornbuckle said in a statement on Wednesday. "We are excited to see so many of our employees return to work and welcome guests back to do what we do best: entertain."
MGM Grand is Las Vegas' largest resort, and its Signature Tower is adjacent to the Strip.
Due to the pandemic, MGM has closed more than 20 casino properties in eight states across the United States. MGM reopened Gold Strike in Tunica, Mississippi last week and plans to reopen Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi on Monday.
Nevada will allow casinos to reopen on June 4 under health and safety guidelines that include reduced capacity and social distancing.
MGM said amenities at all properties will be limited when they open. The company plans to open additional facilities within its resorts and other MGM properties on the Strip as customer demand for Las Vegas increases.
MGM Resorts recently unveiled a comprehensive "Seven-Point Safety Plan," a multi-layered set of protocols and procedures developed in collaboration with medical and scientific experts to limit the spread of the virus, protect customers and employees, and respond quickly if new cases emerge.
In addition to the reopening of the Bellagio Fountains, MGM said the resort's indoor conservatory will open a new Japanese garden called "Japan Journey: Magic of Kansai".
Meanwhile, Caesars Entertainment announced it will move forward with reopening gaming and hotel operations at Caesars Palace and Flamingo Las Vegas on June 4. Caesars also expects to reopen several retail and dining establishments along The Linq Promenade and the High Roller Observation Deck.
Both properties will have access to dining options and outdoor pools as well as slot machines and table games. All services will operate in a manner consistent with physical distancing guidelines.
Caesars expects Harrah's Las Vegas and The Linq gaming floors to be the next properties to reopen in Las Vegas, with timing based on customer demand.

Governor: Nevada casinos can welcome back visitors on June 4
Posted on May 27, 2020 by Cory - More
Governor Nevada, Steve Sisolak, resumed Las Vegas Strip, which had been closed for more than two months due to the generation of Coronavirus, on June 4th in the United States. Officially allowed.
According to State Health Authorities, the proportion of COVID-19-positive people has declined for 30 consecutive days, gaining confidence in resuming the $ 12 billion gaming income last year.
"We welcome tourists back to Nevada on June 4, but we will take all possible precautions," he said.
Nevada's travel advisory, which currently requires a 14-day self-quarantine, will be revised by next week, according to Governor Sisolak.
Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak
"Given today's meeting and the positive trends in the data, I have conveyed to the chairman of the Gaming Control Board that I am confident in our target date of June 4," Sisolak said in a statement.
The Gaming Control Board, the full-time agency that oversees the casino industry, has health and safety guidelines in place to protect casino patrons and employees.
On Tuesday morning, the board held a three-and-a-half-hour workshop with health and safety experts involved in managing Nevada's response to COVID-19 in an effort to fine-tune those requirements.
Board Chairwoman Sandra Douglas Morgan said at the end of the meeting that an industry notice with additional rules and compliance procedures would be released on Wednesday.
Sisolak said in a conference call that the board would have agents and personnel available to ensure casinos are operating under guidelines and that patrons are following social distancing protocols.
"It is important that we put the health and safety of our employees, residents and visitors first and take proactive measures, coupled with the health and safety policy issued by the Gaming Control Board," Sisolak said in a statement. "This is what will help Nevada safely reopen the gaming industry on June 4. I know the Gaming Control Board is resolute in ensuring that gaming operations in our state do not compromise the health and safety of Nevadans, employees and visitors."
The Governor's Office announced last Friday that casinos would tentatively reopen on June 4 as part of the second phase of the state's economic restart. The coronavirus pandemic led to the order to close gaming and non-essential businesses in March.
Not only casinos, but also gyms and fitness facilities, recreation areas and pools, movie theaters and bowling centers will be allowed to reopen, provided they observe some social distancing restrictions.
Also, businesses with 15 or fewer slot machines, such as taverns, convenience stores, bars and restaurants, will be allowed to resume gaming operations starting June 4.
Not all Nevada casinos will reopen immediately. Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International each plan to reopen two of their 18 resorts. One gaming analyst said that Strip hotels will initially have less than half the available rooms.
The challenge for casino operators is gauging demand. Many resorts were accepting hotel reservations in May, but had to cancel or push back reservations to June. The effort provided casino marketing offices with a database of customers interested in visiting Las Vegas after the pandemic.
Virginia Valentine, CEO of the Nevada Resort Association, a trade group representing the state's casino industry, said Tuesday that gaming operators have learned that it is a much easier process to close a facility than to reopen one that has been closed for more than nine weeks.
"We've consistently said we need at least seven to 10 days' notice to reopen," Valentine said. "There are a lot of changes to the physical plant, including social distancing. We have to restock pantries, casino cages, ATMs. And we have to engage employees and customers. Large, experienced operators are in touch with their employees."
The Board of Control guidelines set out initial requirements covering cleaning and disinfection procedures, social distancing, and virus testing temperature checks for customers and employees. There will be multiple hand sanitizing stations and guides encouraging frequent hand washing and social distancing.
Resort operator-run casinos will be limited to 50% of maximum capacity, slot machines will have to be spaced apart, and table games will be required to limit seating to three people for blackjack, six for craps, four for roulette, and four for poker.
Fermin Leguen, chief health officer for the Southern Nevada Health District, said Tuesday that COVID-19 testing should be administered to "100 percent of front-line casino employees" and repeated "systematically." Leguen said casino employees should wear masks and that anyone with a high fever should not return to work until cleared by a medical professional.
According to Mason Van Houvring, CEO of Las Vegas's Universi Medical Center, the hospital has been working with some hotel companies and cooking labor unions to inspect Nevada casinos before resuming. Say.

Gaming regulators told Nevada’s healthcare system ‘can take care of’ casino visitors with COVID-19
Posted on May 26, 2020 by Cor y-Others
Nevada's gaming regulatory authorities were told that if COVID-19 infected people were flooded on Tuesday, the state healthcare system has the ability to accept not only local residents but also casinos.
The state's casino industry has been closed for more than two months for the widespread colon virus, but may be resumed a week later from Thursday. Gaming Control Board (Gaming Control Board) said that in a workshop interview, guidelines for health and security to protect casinos and employees are being developed.
According to CEO, CEO, the CEO of Las Vegas, the public hospital agrees to accept Covid-19-positive visitors who need 14 days. The company has signed an agreement with 10 no n-gaming hotels in southern Nevada. Van Houweling told the management committee that the hotel name would be provided to casino operators.
In addition, health authorities in southern Nevada have prepared 2, 116 beds for COVID-19 patients in five locations, including up to 900 beds at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
"We are convinced that we can take care of the visitors," Van Howling said.
This statement is about three and a half hours, including health and safety experts involved in Nevada's response management for COVID-19 (including the state secretary, Rasino and Las Vegas, and several representatives of Fastless Ponders). It was done in the workshop.
The workshop, which was held in virtual format, had more than 1, 200 viewers gathered.
Gaming Control Board Chair Sandra Douglas Morgan said it was unusual for states and local medical professionals to answer questions from regulatory authorities. However, since the resumption of the Las Vegas Strip and other casino markets is scheduled for June 4, regulatory authorities have sufficiently have a protocol on casino health and safety (including what the regulatory authorities recommend earlier this month). I wanted to confirm that it was.
Fermin Reguen, the highest hygiene officer in the Nevada Southern Health District, stated that the COVID-19 test should be performed "100 % of casino employees working at the forefront" and "organized". Ta. Reghen said that casino employees wore masks and high fever employees should not return to work until the permission of medical experts.
According to Van Houwiring, the hospital is working with some hotel companies and cooking labor unions to inspect employees before Nevada's casino facilities resume. Caleb Cage, the state of COVID-19 in the state, told the Board that Nevada had conducted 133, 508 inspections since March. On April 24, there was a positive reaction of 12. 2 %. As of Monday, 6. 9 % became positive and decreased over 30 days.
According to Regient, it is recommended that all guests check the body temperature, and hotel guests are asking for sel f-checking body temperature every morning. According to Van Houvialing, a resort operating company suggested a second test if the guest's body temperature exceeded 100. 4 degrees. If the fever still continues, take it to the secondary laboratory.
Public health centers also create English, Spanish, and Chinese COVID-19 information cards for resort customers, and have recommended items including wearing a face cover.
The guidelines of the gaming management committee are 7-page documents dealing with resort casinos and local gaming facilities, and for businesses with up to 15 slot machines, such as izakaya, bars, restaurants, convenience stores, and supermarkets. The initial requirements for operations, customers, and employees are determined by the notification of the page.
Resort operator-run casinos will be limited to 50% of maximum capacity, slot machines will have to be spaced apart, and table games will be required to limit seating to three people for blackjack, six for craps, four for roulette, and four for poker.
Morgan said he would announce the latest guidelines on Wednesday.
The management committee also read more than a dozen public comments, such as the official announcement of the resumption plan submitted by the casino company and the smoking cessation in Nevada casinos.
In consultation with the Nevada Corporation Office, Morgan said that the planning to resume casino operating companies was private by state law and could only be published by each company. Changes that prohibit smoking in a casino in Nevada are only allowed by the Nevada Congress.

According to initial plans released by several casino companies, approximately 41% of the total hotel rooms on the Las Vegas Strip will tentatively reopen on June 4.
But one analyst said the percentage of available rooms is likely lower, given health and safety guidelines set by resort operators and state gaming regulators.
"At this stage, we believe this is likely an overestimate of capacity, given the reasonable chance that (hotel) floors and towers will remain dark in the early stages," Deutsche Bank gaming analyst Carlo Santarelli said in a research note to investors on Friday morning.
By Friday afternoon, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak announced June 4 as the planned reopening date for the state's casino industry, which has been shut down since March 18 to stem the coronavirus outbreak.
The Gaming Management Committee was involved in many health and safety management on COVID-19, including the state responsible for the state, the hospital officials in Reno and Las Vegas, and the representatives of Fastless Ponders in the morning of Tuesday. A workshop hearing will be held by experts.
Message / photo listed on Marky of Caesers Palace on May 15th
After the meeting of the regulatory authorities, Sisolak will hold a press conference at 5:30 pm to discuss the transition to the second stage of the state economy. The first stage began on May 9th.
In 2019, the resumption of $ 12 billion gaming income and resuming the largest Nevada Casino market in the United States, which has a representative facility along the Las Vegas Strip, will be a milestone for recovery in the gaming industry after the pandemic.
In March, more than 1, 000 commercial casinos and tribal casinos were closed in 43 states. In the last two weeks, about 160 gaming facilities have resumed in 15 states.
Airlines departing from Las Vegas decreased by 53 % in March, and the response to pandemic is different for each state, so casino managers are forced to respond slowly. Santallelli expects most of the Las Vegas business to be a driv e-in from Southern California and Arizona.
What facilities will open?
Caesers Entertainment announced last week that it resumed Caesters Palace and Flamingo Las Vegas, and would resume retailers and restaurants along the high roller observatory and LINQ promenade. One week ago, MGM Resorts International announced that it will resume New York New York and Bellagio.
When combined with Caesers and MGM, it runs 18 strip resorts.
The MGM Resorts Bill Hornbuckle's CEO (CEO), CEO, said that Bellagio would have only 1, 200 of the 4, 000 rooms in the hotel. Caesters Palace's general manager Sean McBney expects only one of the 4, 000 towers in 4, 000 rooms at first.
"If the opening date is decided, demand will increase." How much? I can't guess. "
