Based on the history of the environment steward ship, the group promises to play a role to protect the earth. In 2022, a climate behavior plan that summarizes the goal of reducing the emissions by 2030, achieving a greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and establishing a framework for climate change risk and recovery force. We have introduced a framework. In addition, our designers and engineers continue to establish the sustainability and circulation principles of our games, toys, entertainment experiences (including packages).
Employees are undoubtedly the foundation of our company. We are nurturing a comprehensive corporate culture consisting of a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and team members with races. Such a variety of experiences creates individuals with unique talents and interests, and in many cases they have higher purposes. In order to foster the sel f-development and potential of employees, we have conducted a trial program that helps employees to find the purpose of individuals related to the purpose of the company.

principle
- As a company with a privilege to provide games, toys, and experiences for fans of all ages, the safety of products and content is the core of our existence. Our strict quality assurance programs and processes are designed to ensure the highest quality and safety of all products and experiences we send to the world, exceeding the expectations of consumers and fans. Our “purpose” and “gifts of play” inspire the social impact and philanthropic approach in the community where we operate our business. We are proud to be able to use our resources to have a positive impact on the lives of millions of children and blessed people.
- Creating joy for everyone around the world and building a community needs to protect the best principles of fairness, respect, and ethics. Our principle is the driving force behind what is expected and unexpected, both inside and outside the company. From the unwavering commitment to human rights protection in the supply chain, to the unwavering approach to ESG, and the strict directors by the Board of Directors, we make full use of our own platforms and leadership to make positive changes to the world. Hasbro is striving to treat his partners, employees, and consumers with dignity and take the right action.
- Hasbro's ESG is a framework for putting our purpose into action, from why we exist to how we deliver sustainable long-term value to our business and stakeholders. Without purpose, ESG is a collection of plays without a coach to guide our decisions and actions. Without an ESG strategy, purpose is just a statement, not a way of doing business. Hasbro's purpose and ESG are inextricably linked, and together they drive scalable impact and create value for our employees, consumers, investors, partners, and the planet. To achieve our purpose, "Creating joy and community for everyone, one game, one toy, one story at a time," Hasbro is focused on four ESG priority areas:
- Product and Content Safety: Protecting consumer trust and meeting their expectations.
- Human Rights and Ethical Sourcing: Protecting the safety, well-being, and dignity of workers throughout our supply chain and operations.
- Climate & Environment: Ensure the health of our planet and communities and the resilience of our operations.
- Talent & Culture (Human Capital Management): Ensure that all employees feel included, respected, and empowered to bring their full selves to life every day.
- See the data tables at the end of each chapter in this report for information on how we measure our ESG performance.
- ESG Materiality Assessment: How are we doing?
- Hasbro regularly conducts an ESG materiality assessment to examine and prioritize current ESG issues relevant to our business and stakeholders. This multi-stage assessment is both good governance and strengthens our ESG strategic approach, goal setting, and reporting. In 2022, we conducted a comprehensive ESG materiality mapping. We conducted leadership workshops and stakeholder surveys to evaluate changes in our business and the global context since our 2017 assessment. This process identified and prioritized the ESG issues and trends that are most material to our business and stakeholders. We engaged an independent consultant to use the GRI 2021 Standard reporting principles of materiality and stakeholder engagement to conduct a three-step analysis:
- Step 1: Research and identify the issues
We researched and evaluated an extensive list of ESG issues that are most relevant to our business and the industries in which we operate. In this step, we considered our current ESG priorities, emerging regulatory requirements, external stakeholder expectations (including ESG ratings and rankings), and the SASB sector standards for Toys & Sporting Goods and Media & Entertainment. As part of this, we also considered broader societal and macroeconomic trends. In particular, we reviewed how we relate to and impact the UN Sustainable Development Goals to align with the external expectations that the global sustainability agenda places on us. Based on our research and analysis, we identified 23 ESG issues that are most important to Hasbro and our external stakeholders.
Step 2: Prioritizing Issues
Employee Survey: To prioritize these issues, we conducted an employee survey, asking team members around the world to rank the issues that are important to Hasbro. After reviewing the responses provided, the top three issues identified were health and safety, employee engagement and development, human rights, and factory conditions.
External Stakeholder Survey: We conducted a similar survey with external stakeholders, receiving responses from consumer groups, trade associations, and expert representatives. The consensus of these stakeholders highlighted the importance of product quality and safety, chemical management, and responsible content.
- Investor Dialogue Shareholder Dialogue: In our shareholder dialogue, we worked with our investor relations and legal teams to gather feedback from our shareholders. Investors consistently highlighted climate, plastics, sustainability, product quality and content safety, human rights, and human capital as Hasbro's top priorities.
- Leadership Workshop Through an internal workshop, the 23 ESG issues were discussed and prioritized by Hasbro's top executives in each of its business areas and regions. First, to prioritize based on the issues Hasbro has the most impact on, and second, to categorize the issues that have the greatest impact on our business success.
- These discussions have concluded that the sustainability of the product, the responsible content and marketing, employee engagement, the environment and suppliers are the highest priority for Hasbro. Climate change is also an important issue for our business, and has a strong correlation with product design, material procurement, and life cycle management. Employee engagement continues to be a central issue for Hassbro, and we always prioritize that the team is an outstanding comprehensive workplace.
- Step 3: Verification of issues
- For the final verification, the company's highest purpose, including the highest executive, the highest executive officer, and the highest personnel officer, cooperated with executives working on our ESG performance and business strategy. The feedback and learning from outside and i n-house stakeholders collected through this process were grouped and prioritized. The results were submitted to the Hassbrogo ELT and Board of Directors and received the final approval.
- Result
- According to ESG importance in 2022, the importance of "human resources and culture", "product and content safety", "human rights and ethical procurement", and "climate and environment", which are core ESG priority issues for Hasbro. It was done. In addition, this evaluation has made it possible to identify major issues that have increased since 2017, such as cyber security, data privacy, biological diversity, and transparency to taxes and transparency. We recently adopted the Chief Cyber Security Officer in 2022 to take measures to strengthen cyber security and data privacy programs. Biodiversity and tax contribution and transparency are new tasks for Husboro, and have been monitoring through reviews of landscape and engagement with stakeholders. These tasks are the foundation of the ESG strategy of Hassbro, which promotes expandable and sustainable progress. Our management and achievements for these issues are described in this report. Climate Risk and Resilience
Environmental stewardship has been a long-standing priority at Hasbro. More than 20 years ago, we began measuring our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to set a baseline. In 2008, we published our GHG reduction goal. In 2010, we joined CDP (formerly Climate Disclosure Project), the world's largest carbon database for tracking and managing environmental impacts. In 2012, the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded Hasbro its first Climate Leadership Award in recognition of the leadership of companies, organizations and individuals in addressing climate change and reducing GHG emissions. These are just a few examples of how we have made great strides in reducing emissions, water usage and waste generation at our owned and operated facilities, as well as reducing the environmental impact of our products and packaging, and these important efforts continue today. Over the years, our environmental blueprint has focused on three core areas: products, supply chain, and facilities and culture. We are proud of the accomplishments we have made so far, including “Mr. Potato Head Goes Green,” the introduction of new environmental measurement tools to our suppliers, and the launch of the employee-led global Hasbro Green Team. We know that continued progress requires continued evolution. Building on our early work to reduce GHG emissions within our owned and operated facilities, including factories, we are now taking a broader, more holistic approach to ensure that our GHG emissions reduction strategy encompasses our entire supply and value chains. Patagonia is also working beyond our environmental impacts to mitigate the risks that climate change poses to our business. Our Climate Action Plan, which will launch in 2023, will strengthen and accelerate Patagonia’s environmental efforts and identify new opportunities for operational excellence and climate resilience.
As a consumer goods company operating in complex global supply and value chains, we have built in processes to assess and minimize our environmental impacts. From innovations in product and packaging design, engineering and manufacturing to fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among employees, Patagonia sees sustainability as an opportunity for innovation and continuous improvement. Patagonia's sustainable design efforts fall into three categories: Sustainable Packaging, Sustainable Products and Advancing the Circular Economy.
Sustainable Packaging
Hasbro's sustainable packaging efforts began over 10 years ago. Initially, we focused on sustainability by design and reducing excess materials in our packaging, but over time, our efforts have expanded toward using more recyclable and recycled materials. Highlights of our efforts include eliminating wire ties from our packaging whenever possible, adding How2Recycle® labels to educate consumers about packaging recycling, and using recycled or sustainably sourced paper for the majority of our packaging and inbox contents.
In 2018, we began using plant-based plastics for certain packaging elements, and since then, our journey to minimizing plastic in our packaging has begun.
Circular Thinking
Patagonia takes pride in environmentally conscious design and believes that every package makes a difference. Patagonia is guided by our sustainable packaging principles and policies, and continues to challenge our creative and technological capabilities to create a more sustainable and circular future for our business and the world.
1. Sustainable Sourcing
Maximize the use of renewable, recycled and certified materials while maintaining the safety of our raw materials. 2. Reduce Materials Eliminate plastic packaging through efficient design and reduce overall material usage while minimizing product damage. 3. Minimize Volume Optimize product and shipping packaging size to reduce environmental impact. 4. Design for Recovery Improve recyclability by eliminating plastic waste and educating consumers with on-package labeling. Consider reusable systems where appropriate.
Packaging Journey
Through 2021 and 2022, we have been reconsidering how to reduce the use of virgin plastic in disposable packaging toys and games. Our challenge was to develop packages that would never compromise on consumer experience and safe delivery, while using materials that were easy to recycle. We are proud that excellent packaging designers and engineers have developed thousands of plasti c-free packages*designs. This includes abolition of poly bags and minimizing the use of shrinks, blister packs, and window seats. Through these initiatives, we have reduced millions of pounds of virgin plastic a year. ** Learning from our package through a trip to reduce disposable plastic can be organized and uses our progress in the future sustainable potential. Patagonia has a dynamic section crossing team that gives a better understanding of the effectiveness of alternative packaging materials and dedicates its impact, which makes Patagonia packaging as much as possible. We will continue to find a solution. Patagonia will promise to reduce the use of virgin plastic as much as possible, and will reduce almost all virgin plastic from the new product package *** since 2023.
- *Excludes tape, adhesive and plastic fasteners.
- ** Calculation based on the ratio of new products to the entire product mix. Based on this data, it is estimated that it has been reduced by about 21 million pounds of virgin plastic. These reductions may be changed because the inventory composition of carry forward and new products changes compared to the previous year.
- *** Husboro defines new products as requiring new molds, new electronic devices, new soft goods patterns, new ingredients, or new packaging. The package excluded from this approach includes products that require plastic barrier (NERF gel rounds, Play-DOH modeling compounds, Easy-Bake food mixes, etc.), and fan collection products (3. 75 inch collector action figures, etc.). Includes Blister Card Package. Magic: The Gathering: The Dungeons & Dragons products are manufactured by Wizards of the Coast, and this calculation is not considered to be a Hazbro Consumer Products.
Lesson 1: Not bound by the established concept
Through our packaging changes, we have benefited both consumers and the environment. By adopting “open packaging” without plastic windows or blisters, consumers can see and feel closer to the product on the shelf. In some cases, we have also moved to “closed packaging” with paper-based boxes, where photorealistic images can better appeal to consumers about the play value of the product.

- Packaging is part of the product and may not be intended to be disposable. Based on fan feedback about collectibles, we have learned that plastic blister packaging is an important part of the product experience. For collectible items like our 3. 75-inch STAR WARS Vintage and Retro Action Figures, fans typically keep the packaging intact for display purposes. To provide the best experience for our fans, we will continue to offer traditional packaging made from plant-based or recycled PET materials.
- LESSON 3: SOLUTIONS FOR QUALITY
- Some products, like PLAY-DOH Modeling Compound, EASY BAKE Oven Mix, and BABY ALIVE Food Packs, require plastic-based materials in the barrier properties of the packaging (against moisture and oxygen) to ensure quality. We are working to identify alternative barrier properties for these products in the future.
Sustainable Products
Patagonia always pursues quality, safety and design balance to increase the sustainability of Patagonia products. These principles are guidelines for studying new materials and innovative technology. The exciting progress of sustainable products is Mr. Potato Head Goes Green and Monopoly Go Green. The Potato Head is made of plastic plastic and plasti c-free (excluding tape and adhesive). Monopoly Go Green package, game board, game guide, money, card, storage bag, insert, and money tray use 100 % recycled paper. The greenhouse and dice in the box use the wel l-managed forest wood, and the tokens use vegetable plastic plants derived from sugarcane, which is a regenerated raw material. In March 2021, a more sustainable "NERF Super Soker" equipped with a water tank that reused PET bottles was released. Based on what we learned from these product development, in 2021, we announced a plan to manufacture the symbolic toy, potatohead product lines with plan t-derived or regenerated materials. This is our overall overall, to ensure that all toys and games will be recycled or recycled to provide products that support a more sustainable and lo w-carbon economy. This is the next step of the trip. Having consumers at the center of Blueprint 2. 0 and gathering feedback from fans is an important first step in sustainable design journey. We conducted a survey of preschoolers' parents and understood their thoughts.

- Promotion of Circular Economy
- Hasbro recognizes the responsibilities of the used products of the product. We are promoting the recyclin g-type economy, recycling toys and games with attachment, and lives in the second life. In 2018, Hasbro started a toy recycling program all over the United States, which allows consumers and fans to recycle Hazbro toys and games for free. TERACYCLE®, our partner and worldwide recycling leader, uses our recycled toys to manufacture products such as pla y-space, park benches, and flower pots. We have expanded this program to 11 countries due to the highest consumer interest in this program.
- Terra Cycle and Magic The Gathering, 2022, we started a trial effort with Terra Cyclic® to find out the opportunity to collect used products at the Wizards Partner Network (WPN) store. In this trial initiative, the wrapping paper of Magic: The Gathering Booster "is currently unable to recycle with a general home recycling program. Wizards sent a recycling box to a North American WPN Premium store and paid back to TerracyCle® when the box was full.
- We have achieved good results from this trial initiative. Retailers were excited to be able to provide new value to consumers through sustainability, and evaluated the ease of introduction and high engagement. We continue to travel to make disposable packaging and make it easy to recycle disposable packaging, but I am happy with this moment that can provide innovative and provisional solutions for products that are difficult to recycle.
- Carbon reduction
- In 2022, Patagonia introduced a framework of climate behavior plan, a tw o-part climate strategy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and build tolerance to climate change. This plan, which will start in 2023, will include existing designs, supply chains, facilities, and new strategic initiatives.
- Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
- The first part of the climate behavior plan focuses on reducing greenhouse gases. The plan was supported by the GHG Net Zero Commitment Letter, which was concluded with the Science Base Target Initiative (SBTI) in January 2022. Participating in SBTI can utilize globally recognized methodology to set the GHG reduction goals in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. This methodology uses dat a-led decisio n-making for scienc e-based strategies.
- Step 1: Carbo n-based line settings
- As a first step, we have embarked on a months-long process to set baseline emissions for direct emissions (Scope 1) and indirect emissions (Scope 2) managed by Hasbro (previously reported), as well as upstream and downstream emissions (Scope 3).
- We have made new investments in more rigorous carbon data collection platforms and software, and have also hired new team members to build our capabilities in this critical area. We are putting in place the tools we need to set realistic reduction targets to achieve our net-zero goal.
- Step 2: Science-Based Target Setting (SBTS)
- Based on our commitment to set science-based targets, and leveraging more comprehensive scoping of our baseline emissions, we are evaluating two key SBTs* for our operations:
- *Target submitted to SBTi for validation on September 15, 2022.
Step 3: Taking Action
As we embark on the next chapter of our environmental sustainability journey, we look forward to learning, growing, and iterating. We will share more details about the SBTi roadmap as we go. We believe that our current environmental initiatives will help us achieve our overarching goals.
Sustainable Supply Chain
Patagonia’s supply chain is responsible for a large portion of our carbon footprint. As such, our supply chain has been a core focus for the past few years and will continue to be a key priority in our carbon reduction strategy. Patagonia has developed a robust greenhouse gas reduction strategy by working closely with third-party suppliers who make and sell Patagonia products to fully understand their environmental impacts and collect and evaluate data.
In 2019, we were the first toy and game company to pilot the Higg Index, a highly regarded tool for measuring the environmental and social impacts of consumer goods manufacturing. Although originally designed for the apparel and footwear industry, the flexibility and effectiveness of the tool proved useful for collecting and analyzing data. We partnered with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) to pilot the Higg Facility Environment Module (FEM). This pilot allowed us to better understand our supply chain’s environmental impacts and provided SAC with cross-industry feedback to expand the tool beyond the apparel industry. In addition to analyzing the data, the tool also served to open dialogue with suppliers about sustainability.
In 2021, we expanded the scope of this trial effort and achieved 100 % of suppliers participating in environmental performance measurements. By capturing the supply chain more comprehensively, we were able to identify the opportunity for Hassbros and suppliers to reduce footprint. For example, in 2021, we used HIGG data to identify the most environmentally affected supplier in the supply chain. In addition, we conducted a field survey, audited these facilities, and decided to be available to reduce environmental footprints in the business.2Sustainability plans for suppliers focus on four fields:
Factory efficiency improvement and operation / maintenance program
Technical upgrade of factory equipment2Installation of solar energy on the premises
Procurement of renewable energy outside the premises
Protection of natural resources
Hasbro is working on the conservation of natural resources and sustainable procurement in global business activities and product development.
water
Hasbro's main businesses, toys, games manufacturing, digital games, and entertainment production do not consume a lot of water, but we consider using clean water to use this important natural resources. We are doing our best to protect. We are implementing the following water saving strategies:
(1) Water sources, use, and emissions are documented, characterized, monitored, and (2) (2) Make the opportunity to save water, and manage the path of contamination. Waste water must be monitored, managed, and processed before emission or disposal. This requirement is part of our ethical procurement programs and suppliers. Whether the suppliers comply with this requirement and the progress of the amount of water is monitored through the annual Higg Fem.
Regional Water Assessment 2021 Patagonia conducted the first annual global assessment about the possibility of water and water quality in the area where suppliers and ownership and operating facilities are located. As part of this work, we identify the priority basin using the World Resources Research Institute's "Water Purification Water Risk Map" tools, and confirm that our supply chain business does not adversely affect the surrounding areas. I did.

Results of initial assessment
Water use is minimal in our owned and leased office space and distribution centers. Primary water use is for domestic use in kitchens, restrooms, cleaning, and some landscaping. Compared to our owned and operated facilities, our suppliers’ water use is high. Our initial assessment looked at the sources of water used at each of our suppliers, along with identifying areas that lack water availability, adequate drinking water, and proper wastewater sanitation practices, as shown on this page. While Patagonia’s suppliers do not manufacture products in water-intensive manufacturing processes, there is an opportunity to have a greater impact in the communities in which they operate. As we rethink our strategy and set new water goals, Hasbro will prioritize further engagement with suppliers whose plants are located in areas classified as highest risk across all three indicators: water availability, drinking water quality, and wastewater quality, as well as in high-risk water source areas, including fresh surface water and groundwater.
Paper
As a consumer goods manufacturer that uses paper in many of our products and packaging, we have a role to play in sourcing paper responsibly. For over a decade, we have used Hasbro's Paper and Forestry Sourcing Policy to share our expectations for sustainable paper sourcing with our suppliers. This policy helps guide our suppliers in the selection of materials for Hasbro products and packaging. Since the introduction of this policy, we have sourced approximately 90% of our paper, packaging and box contents from recycled or sustainable forest management sources. For the remaining paper usage, a cross-functional team is evaluating next steps and opportunities.
Beyond sourcing, we also recognize the importance of healthy forests to maintain biodiversity and fight climate change. We partnered with the non-profit organization One Tree Planted to support global reforestation efforts. With Hasbro's support, 100, 000 trees have been planted around the world, including in Brazil, the United States, India and Ireland. This investment helps replenish the important natural resources used in many of Hasbro's products and packaging.
Waste
COVID-19 Pandemic's office and warehouses are closed, and waste used has decreased from 2020 to 2021, so we focus on more comprehensive data collection and re-evaluate the waste management program. I took. We know that more powerful waste reduction strategies and management can help achieve greenhouse gas reduction goals. With the resumption of ownership and management facilities, we plan to evaluate and assess the risks and opportunities for waste use using the new data collection process, and set new goals and goals.
Ec o-culture
Renewable energy
As part of the support for renewable economy, in 2021 we have invested in renewable energy projects to achieve 100 % renewable energy goals for global ownership and operating facilities. Husboro purchased a renewable energy certificate (REC) to deal with carbon dioxide emissions associated with power consumption of its own and operating facilities. REC represents a renewable energy of 1 megawatt (MWH) per sheet and is generated in the same system as our power consumption. REC was purchased to cover 100 % or more of the power consumed in each market. If the REC was not available in Japan, I purchased a REC from a neighboring country.
The purchased REC mixes renewable resources such as wind, sunlight, biomass, landfill gas, and hydroelectric power generation. These RECs are independently verified by appropriate local attribute tracking systems, such as Green-E, European Energy Certificate System, i-Rec Standard, and relevant regional tracking systems. The REC issued in the United States and Canada is further verified by an independent auditor and authenticated under Green-E Renewable Energy Standard.
Despite the purchase of REC, with the membership of Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI), a worl d-famous organization that supports companies that set emissions in line with climate science, carbon in 2021 was made in 2021. I have not purchased offset credit. Instead, we invest in other emission reduction Initiatives for the goal of Internet Zero. For more information about the annual carbon offset and REC purchase, see our annual renewable energy report.
Hasbro Green Team
The Green Team is a global employee network group dedicated to environmental sustainability. This group of passionate employees influences behavior and inspires a culture of environmental responsibility through awareness and educational opportunities to make Hasbro and the planet more sustainable. Green Teams around the world, including in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and Hong Kong, have hosted events that engage employees in taking positive action to protect the environment. For example, as part of Earth Month 2021, Toronto-based eOne employees launched a video campaign called "The 7 R's of Sustainability" to inspire other employees to make environmentally friendly choices a part of their daily lives. At the company's headquarters in Rhode Island, employees worked with local nonprofits to clean up key coastal areas and prevent tens of pounds of shoreline trash from becoming marine litter.
Sustainable Entertainment Production
In January 2022, Hasbro's entertainment studio, eOne, joined Sustainable Entertainment Production (SPA). SPA is a consortium of the world's leading film, TV and streaming companies dedicated to transforming the entertainment business into a more sustainable industry. SPA sets specific, measurable and timely environmental goals, providing a roadmap and strategy for carbon footprint reduction and waste reduction. Through both SPA and Ontario Green Screen (OGS), a collective committed to sustainable transformation in the film industry, eOne's film and TV team is taking action to make our productions more environmentally friendly. Starting in Canada, eOne is moving to more energy-efficient lighting packaging, recycled materials and reused set construction, circular costumes, solar panels and reducing travel wherever possible.
The second part of the Climate Action Plan covers climate risk and resilience - how the impacts of climate change and severe weather could impact Hasbro's operations, as well as a framework for risk avoidance and resilience building across our business. Our Risk and Resilience Plan identifies physical, regulatory and technological changes that could have a direct financial impact on our business. This includes managing the resilience of operations to the severe physical impacts of climate change, such as severe weather.
We are also further embedding climate risk and resilience throughout our enterprise risk management (ERM) process, starting with the initial climate risk analysis by our internal cross-functional teams. We plan to share milestones, learnings and opportunities along the way on this multi-year journey.
- Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
- The risk and resilience framework we are assessing is based on the Financial Stability Board's recommendations on climate-related financial disclosures. In 2022, we began integrating the TCFD framework into our existing ERM process in four key areas: governance, risk management, strategy, and metrics and targets. The TCFD framework will identify actual and potential climate change risks, guide our management of those risks, and measure the effectiveness of mitigation measures.
- Timeline
- 2022-23: Conduct a climate risk assessment with the support of external experts: Based on the results, we will begin implementing risk mitigation measures and develop evaluation metrics and targets.
- We expect the next few years to be a learning period for Patagonia's operations. For more information on governance, management and performance of current climate change risks and opportunities, please see our latest climate change response to CDP.
- TCFD Key Elements and Actions for 2021/2022
1. Governance - Governance of Potential Climate Change Risks and Opportunities
Environmental policies and initiatives are overseen by the full Board of Directors through both the Governance and Audit Committees. All members of the Governance Committee have ESG expertise. The Governance Committee oversees Hasbro's CSR/ESG issues and works with the Board to review and evaluate the Company's policies and practices on material CSR/ESG issues, including sustainability and climate change. For example, the Governance Committee reviews the Environmental Policy. The Board's Audit Committee oversees financial and SEC disclosures on climate change issues. In addition, the Board's Compensation Committee considers ESG performance and priorities when determining compensation plan design. The Chief Purpose Officer, a member of the ELT, reports to the CEO and leads the Global Purpose organization. The Chief Purpose Officer is responsible for the Company's ESG and CSR strategy, including climate change strategy and environmental sustainability initiatives. 2021/2022 Actions
- Establish a cross-company climate working group
- Report the climate action plan framework to the Board
- Continue to implement ESG with a focus on environmental sustainability identified in the 2022 ESG materiality assessment.
2. Strategy - Business impacts of potential risks and opportunities related to climate change
As mentioned above, Hasbro's ERM process guides us in identifying and evaluating internal and external trends that may impact our business. Our climate action plan will leverage our existing ERM process to conduct climate risk assessments and scenario analysis. Assemble a multidisciplinary team with diverse skills. As part of this process, we will consider proposed or finalized regulatory actions and other developments related to climate change. Ultimately, it is expected that the insights and learnings gained from the climate assessment will guide our operations and create efficiencies.

Hasbro quality assurance process
- We use a five-stage testing and review process to ensure that quality standards and procedures are followed. This allows us to anticipate and improve potential issues and ensure product safety, compliance and reliability.
- Step 1: Product Concept Once a new toy or game concept is approved, our quality assurance specialist engineers work with designers to define the Hasbro design and manufacturing safety and reliability standards (SRS) that the product must meet and document them in a test plan.
- Step 2: Design and Development During design and development, our team creates samples according to our test plan and communicates product-specific requirements to our manufacturing vendors.
- Step 3: Manufacturing During production, our quality assurance team is on-site at our factories to check samples and ensure compliance with SRS requirements. We also contract with independent third-party laboratories to test our products.
Step 4: Market Monitoring Our integrated system captures global feedback from a variety of sources, including consumers, retailers and regulators, on Hasbro products around the world, allowing us to immediately address potential safety or quality concerns.
STEP 5: CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT We continually improve our quality assurance and product safety processes through a circular system that feeds back learning and experience to the first step.
Ensuring Safety and Quality in the Supply Chain
Incorporating quality and safety into the design and development of toys and games is just one part of our approach to bringing safe, compliant, and reliable products to market. Equally important is working with trusted, qualified partners who align with our values throughout the supply chain.
Husboro has a strict approach to confirm that the thir d-party factory is complying with the requirements of Husboro. First, all factories must complete the pr e-certification process before being considered as a business. Once approved, all factories will be monitored through the local visit and will be officially audited at least once a year using our own HASBRO Integrated Quality Audit. In addition, we monitor the safety, compliance, and reliability of products through regular tests and quality checks at multiple stages of manufacturing processes. In addition, we conduct twice a year for Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in order to respond when the quality standards and policies of Hasbro are changed. Our involvement is performed continuously and frequently.
From 2021 to 2022, (1) strengthened its production capabilities by strengthening (1) partnerships with existing suppliers and shifting to (2) new thir d-party manufacturing facilities in Vietnam and Mexico. Our quality assurance team has eagerly educated employees working in factories in Vietnam and Mexico on the quality and safety standards of Hasbro. In addition, we conducted training on the factory tests to ensure that the standards that are recognized worldwide are ensured.
In addition, we have made a big progress in the following fields for the past few years:
The company has expanded its i n-house quality council and added the Ethical Socling Team and the Global Security Team. By incorporating new features, you can incorporate a wide range of opinions and directors. The council regularly examines the quality and safety issues of the product with Hasbro Global Development and Procurement Organization. The council shares the qualit y-related KPI, design and process lessons, new regulations, new policies and procedures. The Council also features a specific field of concern and provides the latest information on correction measures. The final purpose of this information sharing organization is to strengthen and build a Hsblo's safety culture, and to enhance our commitment to the quality of the company first.
Investing on a better data management platform has strengthened the framework of performance measurement. This investment has enhanced the completeness and granularity of the data for measuring and tracking suppliers. In order to formulate the overall performance evaluation of the factory and the overall procurement plan, the quality KPI continues to be incorporated throughout the supplier score card used by the procurement team.
In 2021, despite the continuous issues of COVID-19, we conducted dozens of face-to-face training for quality assurance for vendors, suppliers, labs, and hassblo employees. The training on the enhanced abuse test, the safety of electronic toys, and the safety of basic toys was conducted for more than 400 hours.
Future prospects
As the world has evolved and the expectations of customers and consumers continue to change, we are doing our utmost to evolve the products we provide. We continue to have agile and repeat approaches to meet the changes in changing without compromising safety and quality. We consider new issues, initiatives, and regulations as an opportunity to improve and strengthen our standards. For example, as part of a sustainable packaging, the quality guarantee team has been closely cooperating with a sustainable design team to identify plastic alternatives to protect the product without losing safe delivery.
Chemical substance management
Material specifications and chemical substance control play an important role in the safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities of our products. Based on the widespread and best class initiatives that Hasbro has been in this field, in 2019, our materials and chemical control policies have been officially announced and published. This policy is to convey our strong product safety practices related to chemical substance management, and build a transparency baseline to further involve supply chains through measurement and reduction of environmental impacts.

This policy is applied to all Hazbros from all over the world and applies to vendors and suppliers involved in the production of Hasbro products. Other expectations for chemical control of vendors and suppliers are determined through the "Husboro Vendor Manual".
Hassbro materials and chemical control are based on the following principles and promises:

Chemical footprint project
We measure and report the quantitative indicators of service quality performance and customer protection through various channels, such as Canada BPA surveys. For the first time as a major toy manufacturer, I participated in the chemical footprint project, a Clean Production Action program. The project is developing and promoting the concepts and practice of chemical footprints, focusing on reducing the use of highly concerned chemical substances. Chemical footprint provides a performance evaluation of a specific chemical substance to a better alternative substance in our manufacturing work, supply chain, and packaging. Since I participated in 2019, I have been participating every year and continuing to increase my score. In 2022, it achieved almost perfect results on chemical inventory. The total footprint of chemical substances has been reduced from the 2020 standard value.

We have a two-pronged approach to supplier training, providing regular training for our vendors. The exception is for suppliers that work with high-risk materials, in which case we provide the training directly. We train all Tier 1 and Tier 2 high-risk raw material suppliers on our quality assurance standards at least twice a year. We provide additional training as needed if Hasbro's standards or policies change. We also require all exporters to be ISO 9001 certified.
All Hasbro quality assurance employees are trained on our chemical management processes. We plan to expand training to all Hasbro employees and incorporate it into the onboarding process for new employees.

Our content creators and brand marketing teams are in partnership with COE (Center of Excellence), which consists of entire business experts, including De & amp; I, CSR/ESG, communication, and Regal. We have a comprehensiveity. This group has developed more meaningful and impactful products, content, experience, and marketing by providing specialized knowledge and reliability on various social topics. You can also reduce risk by identifying potential problems and gaps before products enter the market. In many cases, Coe collects a variety of perspectives and provides advice and feedback, and allows various geographical positions, business functions, and advanced employees from the entire business. As part of our strategy, we hope that in the content we make, everyone will reflect themselves as they are. We recognize the importance of hiring, maintaining, and praising a variety of talents inside and outside the screen. Our entertainment production studio, EONE's movie and television category diversity, and Vice President in charge of EONE and Inclusion, supports diversity and inclusion not only in front of the camera but also behind the camera. The drama series "Yellow Jackets", which was nominated for the Emmy Award® and received a high reputation, expresses LGBTQ+characters, such as the Dorian TV Award of the LGBTQ+Entertainment Critics Association, the GLAAD Media Award, and the Peagen Award. So, it has a very high reputation. YELLOWJACKETS has also won the Reframe Stamp of Approval, which is given to TV works that have achieved gende r-balanced employment. More importantly, the success of this series can be seen in the inseparable passion between the characters and the story. This is a proof that the storyline of LGBTQ++writer, and the cast have been incorporated in earnest and conscious.
Another way we bring our approach to inclusive storytelling to life is through our new brand, Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes. In 2021 and 2022, Ewan's Family Brands team worked closely with one of the continent's largest animation studios to launch the new brand in response to the need for more black female protagonists who are strong role models for preschool girls. Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes, which will launch on Disney+, Disney Junior and YouTube in 2023, follows the high-action adventures of Kiya and her best friends Motsy and Jay. The fictional Kimoja City is named after the Swahili word for "one" and is inspired by the people, culture and landscapes of countries in the Southern African region.
Talent Development and Performance Management
Accurately portraying the diversity of life and culture in Southern Africa was paramount. Everything was taken into consideration, including local greetings, family life and food types. The team worked closely with preschool experts and talent across Africa, Europe and the Americas to ensure Kiya’s storyline and characters were the most authentic representation. Thanks to a thoughtful and intentional approach, both in front of and behind the camera, preschoolers around the world can watch Kiya & The Kimoja Heroes and see themselves in it. “The creation of Kiya & The Kimoja Heroes has been incredibly rewarding for all of us.
At Hasbro, we know we operate in an ever-changing geopolitical world. In addition to ensuring product safety and the right to play, the explosion of online and digital technologies is creating new forms of play and entertainment while shortening the path to addressing climate change issues. Around the world, concerns about the resilience and stability of supply chains continue as we face public health and climate challenges. As our business continues to grow and stakeholder expectations evolve, we are responding to an increasingly complex global environment.
We believe that it is more important to be more important than ever before to build an appropriate policy and regulatory environment to government agencies, regulatory authorities, no n-governmental organizations, industry organizations, and other companies. 。 We have to work with initiatives that meet these needs, including issues such as products and content safety, ethical procurement, responsible marketing, and sustainability.
The Global Government Affairs Team leads and supervises public policies on these issues and other issues, and is working closely with local and countr y-level staff. For example, in the United States, the Global Government Affairs Team has worked with the US Council and NGOs for several years to encourage the formula of unified national standards on chemical safety. As a result, the Chemical Safety Law (CSIA) was enacted in 2016, and for the first time in 1976, the Chemical Law in the United States has been significantly revised. CSIA aims to provide unified nationwide approaches to chemical substance control and ensure business and product safety in all 50 states.
In the European Union (EU), along with the European toy industry association (TIE), Hazbro has been actively involved with the European Committee, and specializes in the revision and interpretation of themes, such as toys safety commands, chemical requirements, and sustainability. I am participating in the house work group. In order to ensure that the proposed revised proposal is to provide children with high levels of protection, execute, enforcement, and risk. It also includes leading the European toy industry initiatives. Similarly, in the Asia n-Pacific region, we are in partnership with the Asian toys and the Gekyo Association (ATPA) and the toy associations of each country to discuss the latest and new topics in the government and the toys industry in the region, including the best practices in other regions. Masu. We also cooperate with developed and emerging policies and regulatory authorities around the world. For example, in Latin America, Hazbros actively participate in public hearings, cooperate with regulatory authorities, limit competition, and then reduce toys and games, which makes children unable to get them. It proposes sexual and trade barriers. < SPAN> It is more important to be aggressive with government agencies, regulatory authorities, no n-governmental organizations, industry organizations, and other companies to build an appropriate policy and regulatory environment. I'm thinking. We have to work with initiatives that meet these needs, including issues such as products and content safety, ethical procurement, responsible marketing, and sustainability.

As long as Husboro is involved in public policy lobbies, the Company is working to disclose such expenditures as obliged by the US Federal Law. The US toy Association, a member of Husboro, has a PAC, and Husboro officers can donate personally. However, the membership fee of Hassbro is not a source of funding for this PAC.
Husbro has no US Political Activity Committee (PAC) and does not donate a company to political activities.
Since its establishment by the Hassenfeld brothers in 1923, the return to the local and international communities has become a central pillar of Hasbro. Today, our global philanthropy and social impact activities are strategic priorities in accordance with the needs of our Blueprint 2. 0, employees and local communities. The newly expanded strategy supports children, families and young adults. In 2022, we changed the name from the Husbro Children's Fund to the Husboro Foundation and set a new impact priority. We will continue to give the maximum impact as possible, using employee time, talent, toys and games donation, funding, and business assets, including our brand.

Delivering the joy of play
We believe that the right to play is basic human rights. Our product donation programs distribute our loved toys and games to millions of people, provide relief in crisis, and support people in trouble through holiday gifts.
Play relief
The Play Relief Program aims to provide people who are affected by health problems, humanitarian crisis, and natural disasters around the world. Toys and games donated through the play relief can provide children and their families a normal and peaceful time and provide a fun time in stressful situations.
Response to natural disasters
One of the most important issues that tends to overlook when a natural disaster such as a hurricane or a tornado occurs is to respond to the psychological needs of affected children. In the event of a disaster, the employees are united to pack toys and games in the play relief kit. These kits are distributed by our no n-profit partners to the emergency evacuation centers that temporarily accommodate those who have lost their homes. These kits provide distractions, community consciousness, and fun when they are most needed.
World refugee support
Last year, Hasbro supported refugees around the world and donated $ 3 million to organizations such as Save the Children and UNICEF USA. Through the Welcome Exchange, Welcome. I am proud.

Alliance with local schools
Hasbro has been closely related to elementary schools in Lord Island, where the headquarters is located for decades. - Brian Goldner Center for Changing the Future
- In October 2021, we lost Brian Goldner, former chairman and beloved CEO of Hasbro, suddenly. Brian was a visionary in entertainment, play and storytelling, and a believer in using our business as a force for good. He was passionate about lifting others up through mentorship, empowering women in the industry, creating opportunities for underserved youth, and improving the care system for vulnerable adults. In memory of Brian, we established the Brian Goldner Center for Changing the Future. Husbro Vietnam, Senior Global Supply Planner, Van Ann
Team members from 2020
"One of the special reasons for working in Hazbros is human connection. I feel that management and colleagues talk, respect, and support me. Sincent charity hosted by the company. If you participate in the event and contribute to the local community, you will not work forever. That's what I feel in Hasbro. "
Our values
Hasbro has a strong connection with fans beyond generations and regions, with missions and purposes, and has been in the first 100 years in history. This is a gift of a common sense of purpose of connecting the great brands of Hasbro, the people who can live on it, and the people to create joy. Hasbro's corporate culture is supported by our values.
In 2022, our value, which was reconstructed to reflect the vibrant corporate culture and brand portfolio of Husboro, will work on each other and combine and realize a strategy to achieve a strategy. The expected value is determined. Our value is the foundation of corporate culture that allows everyone to show their own true form and provide the best job.
New way of working
Since Husbro started business, the connection between employees has been the biggest property. When we are together, we do not know where we can lead the results and design creative thoughts on the results. As with all companies, the candy of COVID-19 urged us to bring a curve, cooperate, and reconsider how to work. Our simplicity, recovery, and unwavering commitments for missions have survived their businesses into success over a few years of difficult times. The lessons learned through pandemic are utilized in the new work philosophy of Hassbro. This includes accepting agility and flexibility as an organization, nurturing team members' growth mind, and further utilizing technology for success.
Our hybrid model accepts the flexibility on of f-site, and at the same time, provides the opportunity for the team to work together. By promoting fac e-t o-face collaboration and realizing remote connections using technology, we are working on creating an environment where all team members can work agile. To meet this need, our physical bases have been reconstructed.
There are several guidelines in the future of our business and work experience. For most team members, this means that you can work in a hybrid or remote. We provide a wide range of flexibility to support individual work style while balancing business needs and corporate culture.
Guidelines for future work
Continue to focus on purpose, culture, and values
Trust and accountability are the basis of employee experiences.
We accept flexibility
High priority on employee health and happiness
The office is one of multiple places to connect and create
The future is supported by technology
There is no uniform approach
Patagonia's People's People's Common Organization continuously cooperates with leaders around the world to establish a guidance principle of understanding its unique situation, flexible, culture, connection, and employee benefits. I am.
Connect people for the purpose
The purpose of a company always begins to people and ends with people. We basically believe that employees' experience and culture match the purpose of Hasbro. Employees are our greatest supporters and enthusiastic accountability partners. We must not only understand the purpose of Hassbro, but also feel that we are sincerely connected to the success of Hassbro.
So what should we do? In 2021, we introduced an online personal purpose assessment tool in 2021 to support Husboro's "purpose". After the personal purpose is revealed, we will support employees to link the company's purpose and their work to their individuals.
For example, in 2022, members of the consume r-related team participated in the destination assessment. Initially, he was hesitant to participate in this process, but the leader said, "What are you interested in in your life? What are you passionate about what affects you? What kind of? Do you want to make a change? In other words, they understood how they were tied to the big purpose of bringing the joy of people.
Thinking about what is important for employees and how it leads to higher purposes can not only increase morale but also to engagement. High employee engagement builds a healthy corporate culture, enhances the retention rate, and improves productivity.

Employee experience
A vibrant, comprehensive, and a corporate culture that focuses on victory makes Hsblo unique. This culture is supported by employee experience. Employee experience is a journey of all exchanges before to retire, and in the meantime.
Listen
We are convinced that listening and continuous feedback culture will promote continuous improvement. We regularly collect feedback from team members through various channels. One of the methods is employee listening tours such as town holes where senior leaders meet with team members with a small number of people. This tour is planned to foster a mutual trust environment where leaders can be transparent and team members can share their wishes and issues. These forums are also opportunities for leaders to provide the latest strategy information to global team members. In 2022, the senior leader answered employee questions in real time, and launched the UNScripted Global Forum, which shares the progress of the company's major priority on the company. Supporting the listening culture will make your Hasbro better and at the same time perform better performance.
Another means of feedback collection is an employee questionnaire. We use Microsoft tools and use the GLINT platform to regularly collect opinions and feedback from global team members. In 2021, we started an annual global employee engagement survey for all business departments. The survey results not only improve employee engagement as a whole, but also to identify how to improve the main attributes (gender, age, racial, number of years of service, etc.). By making the granularity in this way, you can understand how an unspecified number of people can feel and what actions can be advanced. It also works as a useful tool for gathering priority items, performance, and growth feedback, making employees evaluated and gaining the best every day.

In Hasbro, we are proud that all employees take 4 hours of paid vacation every month and participate in volunteer activities in the local community. In 2022, we are evaluating and redesigning our approach to talent and performance to better reflect the connection between individual growth and company success. A growth mindset is best fostered when it is rooted in individual drive and ambition. We empower our employees and their managers to take ownership of their learning and career development. We are expanding access to development, including stretch assignments, learning platforms, peer coaching, and “gig” opportunities across workstreams and teams. We are exploring new learning platforms to engage our teams on their development journey and accelerate business growth. Our goal is to attract, retain, and develop talent with the right capabilities and aligned to the right purpose.
The right people. The right capabilities.
2022 was the beginning of a multi-year transformation journey for Hasbro and our talent organization. Starting with ELT, we welcomed a new CEO and a new Chief People Officer in early 2022. As we position our organization to deliver on our Hasbro Blueprint strategy, understanding our current talent and succession landscape is essential to achieving (and reaching!) our financial and strategic goals.
This year, Patagonia has taken several important steps to enhance our global talent and succession review process across all businesses in our business model to:
Get a snapshot of our current talent
Identify roles critical to strategic success
Identify key talent
Implement leadership succession planning
Address underperformance and retention risks
As part of this work, our talent team is working closely with business and operational leaders to develop talent managers, strengthen quarterly performance conversations, and develop retention plans for the high-performing, key talent we need to achieve our business goals.
