This Report is Focused on allowing better performance in business analysts and aspiring company analyst professionals. In this aspect, I thought understanding the fundamentals of project phases might be a helpful read. Basically I am hoping to touch upon the different elements of a technology project that accomplishes a particular business outcome where business analysts play a very important role.

Our world today is governed by technology. By the time we wake up in the morning to the time we hit the sack in the night we are in a way dominated by tech. A business analyst role in a way is better appreciated if there is technology involved. As stated earlier in my articles, anyplace in this world, that combines people, process and technologies would bring about a problem.

Business job that involves technology are often split into two large stages in the consulting world. The first phase is named Scoping and the second stage is called Delivery. Both these stages contain multiple sub phases where a company analyst plays a very important role. We will look at them in detail.

Scope Definition – From my experience, I have noted than frequently the scope definition of this project is before a business analyst being assigned to the job. Sometimes, the company analyst may get lucky and endure to be included in the scope definition of the job. But usually in this stage a project / operational manager, the program manager and subject matter experts play a significant role. Sometimes, this stage is also known as blue printing.

In certain instances The scope stage include the requirements gathering process while in some circumstances, it gets pushed to the analysis phase of the project.
